For certain applications, industries may require non-standard profiles of rotary shaft seals. In such cases, Techné's engineering office offers its expertise and experience to develop new dedicated rotary shaft seal profiles for specific customer applications.
The engineering office's support may involve validation or recommendations, all the way to the complete development of a project, including product definition, drawings, numerical simulations, and prototype production.
As an initial approach, Techné's engineering office invites customers to fill out a design form. All necessary information, such as rotational speed, service temperature, contacting fluids, housing and shaft materials, will be analysed. A profile specific to the customer's requirements will be designed and proposed.
Access the form for custom partsDepending on the operating temperatures and chemical environment, Techné offers several materials for rotary shaft seals on request:
Standard rotary shaft seals are designed for low-pressure rotational applications, sometimes even without pressure (maximum 0.5 bar). Specific rotary shaft seals are available for rotating systems requiring pressure seals:
For applications exceeding 10 bar, Techné's engineering office is at your disposal. → CTA to contact form
Techné also offers surface coatings for rotary shaft seals.
Techné's surface coatings consist of a solid lubricant deposited on the seal surface with a thickness ranging from 5 to 35 microns. Most Techné coatings are based on PTFE, known for its excellent sliding properties. The Techné surface coating applied to rotary seals helps reduce friction between the sealing lip and the shaft, thus preventing premature wear of the shaft. Techné surface coatings are particularly effective in high-speed rotation applications.
Techné also provides surface coatings compliant with food applications.
