The seals must be of high quality in order to meet the technical requirements specified by the customers: guaranteed sealing, sliding, resistance to fluids, durability, noise reduction, heat dispersion.

Techné seals and gaskets are used in a wide range of household appliances and kitchen equipment for both professional and domestic use. These application areas are subject to strict regulations regarding hygiene standards.
Techné offers the following gaskets for household applicances:

Materials and approvals
Techné offers the following material compounds for an application in household applicances:
- NBR (nitrile rubber)
- EPDM
- FKM (fluoroelastomer)
- Silicone (VMQ)
- PTFE
- TPU (polyurethane)
Techné develops other special material compounds on request.
For applications in contact with food, the Techné engineers develop special material compounds that comply with national and international regulations.
For materials used in sealing parts for household appliances the following approvals are provided, among others:
- FDA et 3A for the USA
- CE 1935/2004 for Europe
- GB4806 and GB9685 for China
Coatings
Techné is equipped with a department for surface coatings at its head office in Morancé (France). The surface coatings proposed here meet customers’ needs such as improved sliding, reduced assembly effort, extended service life, identificiation and customisation of the seals.
Techné offers approved surface coatings for food and drinking water applications:
- Coating T-Coat® PPA : FDA and CE 1935/2004
- Coating T-Coat® PA : FDA, CE 1935/2004, UBA, W270, NSF H1 and WRAS
- Coating T-Coat® LN : FDA
While the T-Coat® PPA coating improves sliding properties and reduces "stick-slip" effects, the T-Coat® PA coating is suitable for dynamic applications. It facilitates the mounting of the seals (reduction of assembly efforts). The T-Coat® LN coating is particularly suitable for dynamic applications with low loads as well as for silicone seals and very small sealing parts.
